Altogether In The Park 2009
Altogether in the Park is the West Edinburgh summer community event, celebrating the diverse, talented and inspiring individuals and organisations in the area. The event brings together local agencies and the community for a great fun day out for the family. The funfair will be running all day, alongside the community information stands. If you’d like a relaxing massage get along to the Health Marquee for your free therapy session.Children and young people will find plenty going on all day in the children’s tent and in the Youth Marquee. SCOREscotland staff will be there with a range of activities with prizes. The activities were created by young people who attend SCOREscotland youth club and will be totally free to enter, so come along for a chat, to find out more about our youth and children’s activities and to have a go at winning a prize!
Refugee Week
As we all probably know, REFUGEE WEEK was celebrated over the week beginning 14th June. Events organised to mark
refuge week are designed to raise awareness of the issues faced by refugees and the contribution to this country they make or could make. It is also another opportunity to bring communities together and celebrate the diversity of cultures that have made Scotland their home.
This year at SCOREscotland, Refugee Week was marked through a play staged by children and young people of our Knots and Crosses Youth Club – KCYC in partnership with Ankur Productions. This was a very good event and one of the highlights for me was the number of children and young people in the audience!
