/ Youth Climate Leadership Programme
Our Youth Climate Leadership Programme
A new and exciting project that supports South West Edinburgh based black and minority ethnic (BME) young people (14 – 18 years) to equip them with green skills, support them in earning the John Muir Award and help them become more involved in climate action.
The project offers informal learning and practical support to local young people. Activities will include:
Conservation activities in line with the John Muir Award (tree planting, foraging, nature surveys, gardening and more)
Repair workshops for electronics and clothes as well as upcycling sessions
Outings to places of environmental value
- Film-making opportunities to learn new skills and promote climate action in our local area
Volunteering opportunities with local organisations to encourage the development of young people’s passion for and interest in climate change, allowing them to take the climate emergency message from home to the wider community and achieve a climate-conscious society.
If you are a parent/guardian or a young person and you would like to hear when activities within this project take place, please fill this form
