A variety of Free activities for local Women
Our women’s group offers a safe space for local women to meet up, have a chat and enjoy a variety of activities. The group’s main focus is for participants to feel a sense of belonging, develop new skills, and connect with others in their community. Current activities include a weekly social sewing group and frequent trips, outings, and workshops.
Edinburgh Art Festival Activities
Edinburgh Art Festival: We have an ongoing connected partnership with Edinburgh Art Festival to address the causes & effects of racism and promote race equality through creative expression. This collaborative work strives to break down barriers to the full participation of minority ethnic communities in all aspects of civic life.
Our yearly activity includes free group and individual creative exercises to affirm creativity, develop confidence & share skills through facilitated group work. Contact us to find out when the next EAF activity will be!
Sewing classes
Women’s Sewing Group: On Wednesday mornings from 10:00am- 12:00pm we run a women’s sewing and craft group at CWC, 98 Wester Hailes Road, EH14 3HR. (Restarting September 30th 2026 )
Our group is open to ALL women, from beginner to experts, everyone is welcome! You can bring your own sewing project or use the fabric we provide. Whether you want to alter a pair of trousers, adjust a top, sew a tote bag, or create a cushion cover, bring your ideas and your enthusiasm and let’s see what we can do!
