A new and exciting project that supports South West Edinburgh based black and minority ethnic (BME) young people (11 – 17 years) to enhance their climate literacy and help them become more involved in climate action.
The project offers informal learning and practical support to local young people. Activities will include:
- Weekly hybrid awareness-raising workshops: covering practical skills to reduce carbon footprint.
- Outings: to places of environmental value.
- Campaigning: to connect YP with local, national and international climate movements to increase their understanding, confidence, and experience with climate change movement building.
- Volunteering opportunities: to enable the development of YP’s passion for and interest in climate change, allowing them to take the climate emergency message from home to the wider community and achieve a climate-conscious society.
