On Saturday 27th April 2024, we organised a successful focus group session with our children and young people. The purpose of the focus group was to assess their priorities and aspirations. The in-person interactive event was attended by over 40 children and young people. It helped us to identify program preferences and participation needs as well as answering questions about cultural identity and representation. We asked questions such as :
– What do you like most about participating in SCORE Scotland’s activities?
– How can our programs help everyone get along and work well together?
– Have you ever had problems with others in groups? How were they fixed?
– What helps you feel happy and safe in our programs?
– How can our programs make you feel good and happy?
– What do you enjoy most about the current SCORE Scotland programs, and what would you like to see improved or changed?
– Are there any new ideas or initiatives you would like to introduce in SCORE Scotland services?
– What have you learned or gained from participating in our programs, and how has it impacted your personal development?
– What message or advice would you like to share with other children and young people who are considering joining SCORE Scotland programs?
– Heritage: How important is it for you to see your cultural background represented in SCORE Scotland programs?
– Are there specific cultural traditions or celebrations you would like to learn more about, share with others, or see incorporated into our programs?
– How can SCOREscotland programs promote understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures and backgrounds?
– What Scottish/UK heritage sites would you like to visit?
– Is there anything else you would like to add or discuss about our programs and your experiences?
